The Chase is a landmark office development in Sandyford, Dublin, owned by Kennedy Wilson. CI Studio was commissioned to create a new signage and wayfinding system that would bring clarity and character to the building, while complementing its architecture and contemporary working environment.

We developed a considered signage system throughout the building, paying particular attention to typography, scale, materials, positioning and finish. Each element was designed to feel like part of the architecture rather than an addition to it, creating a consistent visual language from arrival through to the internal spaces and car park.

A combination of floor-to-ceiling acoustic panels and toughened glass is used for the internal wayfinding signage, providing clear navigation throughout the building. Corian is used for the floor-level indicators within the stairwell, adding a durable and cohesive finish.

The existing totem was repurposed as an environmentally and cost-conscious solution, combining powder-coated aluminium, natural wood and internally lit lightboxes displaying each tenant’s name. This creates a strong visual connection between the interior and exterior signage, tying the overall wayfinding scheme together.

For the car park, we took a more handcrafted approach, commissioning sign painter Gabi Joyce to hand-paint the directional signage. The combination of precise graphic design and traditional sign painting adds a distinctive, human touch to an otherwise functional space.

Working with our signage partner Artisan, we managed the project through design, manufacture and installation, ensuring the detail and quality of the original designs were carried through to the finished work.

The result is a signage system that gives The Chase a stronger sense of identity and place, particularly for the people who work there.

Carefully considered details, quality materials and skilled craftsmanship come together to make the building easier to navigate, more engaging to experience and, ultimately, more vibrant.
